Dodgebomb

In DODGEBOMB, Lieutenant Eddie Fitzgerald is shipped straight from school to be a casualty replacement in Iraq. Entering the conflict during the height of the war, he’s immediately thrown into combat where he must quickly overcome his naivety and earn the trust of his unit to survive. However, as if hunting Al Qaeda isn’t enough, Eddie is quickly pulled into Arab tribal politics and petty, Army officer rivalries that threaten to spoil any actual work that he accomplishes.

DODGEBOMB is a pugnacious, yet unheroic novel set in Iraq during the troop surge in 2008. Readers are engrossed by the accurate combat accounts of counterinsurgency, intimate details of military operations, and unpredictability, prompting them to ponder why we continually send our soldiers into harm’s way.
